In 2024 we recorded 8627 antisemitic incidents – an increase of 77% compared to last year. After being able to analyze the first full calendar-year after October 7 2023, the reports illuminates the omnipresence of antisemitism in Jewish daily lives in Germany, reaching new levels of violence ,the role of Israel-related antisemitism, the situation in schools and universities and an alarming raise of incidents with a right-wing extremist background. The report is published on quite tumultuous days for us, as the Diaspora Alliance published last week a report scrutinizing our work, in an attempt to undermine our credibility. Their report is full of misleading interpretations of our work and misinterpretation of our numbers, often cherry-picking and sensationalizing small segments of our publications, while leaving other parts which undermine these false claims aside or ignoring other publications which contradict the central claim of the report: that our work is negatively biased towards Palestinians and/or towards manifestations of solidarity towards Palestinians. We were already able to publicly contradict major claims mentioned in the 60-page report, but take responding seriously and work on an elaborate response paper to fully debunk it.
